Worked as advertised, but word of warning!!
If you take any SSRI medication, taking L-Theanine as well may increase your risk of seratonin syndrome, a rare but extremely serious condition. If you take any serotinergic medication like SSRIs (Lexapro, Prozac, etc.), MAOIs, or TCAs, make sure you understand the risk and know the symptoms of seratonin syndrome when taking any supplement with L-Theanine.
A lot of people taking SSRI's have trouble waking in the morning and would benefit immensely from this product, so I hope Zest Labs releases a secondary version without L-Theanine so we can feel safe and comfortable taking it every day. At the moment I am only taking one pill (40mg caffeine, 40 mg L-Theanine) out of caution, but I wish I could take a full 80mg caffeine.

“Waking up after 7 hours like clockwork”
From Day 1, Zest has consistently worked in 7 hours for me. I'm still figuring out the timing and if I want to be a morning exerciser before getting ready for work, but I'm waking up less groggy and more able to plan and make decisions. I used to wake up well before I needed to be up in order to have multiple alarms and a slow morning to let the coffee hit. Taking Zest is already a big improvement for a night owl with an early morning job. My only issue is sometimes I want more than 7 hours of sleep, but it will wake me up after 7 hours. So it's hard to take daily, though I know that is how it works best. I'm going to try to take it at 10PM even on weekends to wake up at 5AM and hope those habits become regular during the workweek. I've been waking up a few minutes before my alarm every day, so it's not a surprise.

“Got me off provigil”
so I have idiopathic hypersomnia, and it has been getting increasingly worse in the last year. I was taking Provigil 200 mg twice a day and I was still having issues staying awake. Unfortunately, the Provigil put me in afib so taking more wasn’t really an option. My provider found this for me, and I started taking it in place of the provigil. It was a rough transition at first because I was also on propranolol. But after about a week, it helped me tremendously. Now I take two of these at night and I actually feel awake enough to drive to work. It’s safer because I don’t go into AFib anymore.

I don't write reviews.
Ok. First things first, I don't write reviews. This might be my first real review ever. But I want people to hear this. I've had an interesting journey with Zest. It started off poorly, waiting a month plus to receive my order which I was extremely excited for (with what I would consider insufficient communication about the delay, though it was around the holidays). When it finally came, my first night trying it I didn't really feel much. Some context: I am a daily caffeine drinker (1-3 cups per AM). I've been drinking coffee for decades so I believe I've built up a bit of a tolerance. After some research, I decided to up my dosage to three pills per night. That was it. Perfect. I suffer from sleep inertia in a big way. I've been working on a solution for years. I have sleep apnea and have been using a CPAP for three years. I thought that might cure me of waking up feeling like a lesser primate. But alas, no. That was not it. I definitely felt better throughout the day having slept more soundly with fewer wake ups overnight, but I still needed 1-2 hours in the morning to feel like myself. With three Zest pills prior to bedtime (11pm is when I take it), when my alarm goes off or my child crawls into bed and my eyes open, I am ... awake. Fully awake. Joyfully and excitedly awake. Cons: it's expensive and there are other delayed release caffeine pills out there. But the reason I decided to reup for another 3 month supply (which will admittedly not even last me three months as I am taking 3 pills instead of 2) is because of the addition of L-Theanine and B vitamins into the mix, plus the very tight window where the caffeine is released. Cheaper caffeine pills can not promise the same delayed release schedule. Ok Ted talk over. Get zest. You won't regret it.
