Worked as advertised, but word of warning!!
If you take any SSRI medication, taking L-Theanine as well may increase your risk of seratonin syndrome, a rare but extremely serious condition. If you take any serotinergic medication like SSRIs (Lexapro, Prozac, etc.), MAOIs, or TCAs, make sure you understand the risk and know the symptoms of seratonin syndrome when taking any supplement with L-Theanine.
A lot of people taking SSRI's have trouble waking in the morning and would benefit immensely from this product, so I hope Zest Labs releases a secondary version without L-Theanine so we can feel safe and comfortable taking it every day. At the moment I am only taking one pill (40mg caffeine, 40 mg L-Theanine) out of caution, but I wish I could take a full 80mg caffeine.

“Waking up after 7 hours like clockwork”
From Day 1, Zest has consistently worked in 7 hours for me. I'm still figuring out the timing and if I want to be a morning exerciser before getting ready for work, but I'm waking up less groggy and more able to plan and make decisions. I used to wake up well before I needed to be up in order to have multiple alarms and a slow morning to let the coffee hit. Taking Zest is already a big improvement for a night owl with an early morning job. My only issue is sometimes I want more than 7 hours of sleep, but it will wake me up after 7 hours. So it's hard to take daily, though I know that is how it works best. I'm going to try to take it at 10PM even on weekends to wake up at 5AM and hope those habits become regular during the workweek. I've been waking up a few minutes before my alarm every day, so it's not a surprise.

“Got me off provigil”
so I have idiopathic hypersomnia, and it has been getting increasingly worse in the last year. I was taking Provigil 200 mg twice a day and I was still having issues staying awake. Unfortunately, the Provigil put me in afib so taking more wasn’t really an option. My provider found this for me, and I started taking it in place of the provigil. It was a rough transition at first because I was also on propranolol. But after about a week, it helped me tremendously. Now I take two of these at night and I actually feel awake enough to drive to work. It’s safer because I don’t go into AFib anymore.

It really works.
Tried it for 2 days already and omg! I never naturally woken up by myself before. This really works. No grogginess at all and I feel alert.

Literally, a game-changer for...
Literally, a game-changer for me. The grogginess and "ughhhh fog" that I usually wake with..gone. To be clear, I don't wake up "energized" but I wake up feeling like okay, I can think clearly and clearly, its time to get up. This might sound or seem simple to alot of people but its life changing for me and my day.

Absolute game changer for sleep inertia
These pills have changed my life. I have suffered from sleep inertia for my entire adult life, since puberty. It has gotten worse as I have gotten older. These pills are the only thing that ease my anxiety enough to know I will wake up when my alarm is set the next morning and actually get out of bed. I don’t find they have completely reset my circadian rhythms and suddenly made me a morning person who can get up at 5 or 6 in the morning. I also have found they are more effective when I *don’t* take them every night, as my body gets used to them quickly and therefore will override them and stay asleep. All that said — when used in the way I’ve found works best for my body, these pills have been a lifesaver. I am so grateful to have them for when I need them.

Improved Sleep Inertia
So far it is helping a bit. I still struggle a little in the mornings, but before, I could sleep through my alarm for over an hour. Now I actually wake up to my alarm, but I still feel a little bit groggy and tired. I'm assuming this will get better over time, but honestly, just being able to wake up is a huge improvement to me. I do wish they had a little bit more oomph though. Caffeine is not as strong for me as it is for others, but the other ingredients are probably helping with that. I do still feel like I need to take my Adderall in the morning. I'm not AS tired throughout the day as I usually am. If there was a stronger version for people who aren't sensitive to caffeine, I would definitely buy it! Or maybe take three instead of 2 before bed? I won't do that before looking into if it is okay to do though. I'm hoping it just gets better as I continue to take them!

Makes Early Mornings Easy
I’ve been using Zest for a couple of months. Honestly I wasn’t sure if it was working at first, but a couple of months out I can tell the difference when I don’t take it. I wake up at 5:00AM, and the days when I haven’t taken Zest the night before I’m dragging. On the mornings when I haven’t taken Zest the “fog” isn’t there and I can get up and do what needs to be done for my day.

Early Mornings Made Easy
Zest has really helped me get up and start my day earlier than ever. I’d always hit snooze on my alarm several times before getting out of bed, but now I can get myself up on the first alarm without feeling super groggy. I’ve even started working out in the morning, which I rarely could do before. Can’t recommend this enough!

No more sleeping through alarms
I'm a very deep sleeper and am slow to wake up, even after getting plenty of sleep. I've missed plenty of alarms and overslept, and the first hour or more of the day has always been wasted in a mental fog. Zest has made an incredible difference in my morning routine. Now when the alarm goes off it's like my mental gears are already turning, which makes it so much easier to take the first step of simply getting out of bed. The time-delayed release works very well; I haven't noticed any effects before bedtime, even if I stay up for a bit after taking Zest. It also doesn't seem to prevent me from getting deep, restful sleep. The recommended dosage of two capsules sometimes leaves me feel a little jittery shortly upon waking, so I started taking one capsule instead, which has turned out to be the sweet spot. For me it's worth every cent and then some.

I don't write reviews.
Ok. First things first, I don't write reviews. This might be my first real review ever. But I want people to hear this. I've had an interesting journey with Zest. It started off poorly, waiting a month plus to receive my order which I was extremely excited for (with what I would consider insufficient communication about the delay, though it was around the holidays). When it finally came, my first night trying it I didn't really feel much. Some context: I am a daily caffeine drinker (1-3 cups per AM). I've been drinking coffee for decades so I believe I've built up a bit of a tolerance. After some research, I decided to up my dosage to three pills per night. That was it. Perfect. I suffer from sleep inertia in a big way. I've been working on a solution for years. I have sleep apnea and have been using a CPAP for three years. I thought that might cure me of waking up feeling like a lesser primate. But alas, no. That was not it. I definitely felt better throughout the day having slept more soundly with fewer wake ups overnight, but I still needed 1-2 hours in the morning to feel like myself. With three Zest pills prior to bedtime (11pm is when I take it), when my alarm goes off or my child crawls into bed and my eyes open, I am ... awake. Fully awake. Joyfully and excitedly awake. Cons: it's expensive and there are other delayed release caffeine pills out there. But the reason I decided to reup for another 3 month supply (which will admittedly not even last me three months as I am taking 3 pills instead of 2) is because of the addition of L-Theanine and B vitamins into the mix, plus the very tight window where the caffeine is released. Cheaper caffeine pills can not promise the same delayed release schedule. Ok Ted talk over. Get zest. You won't regret it.
