Worked as advertised, but word of warning!!
If you take any SSRI medication, taking L-Theanine as well may increase your risk of seratonin syndrome, a rare but extremely serious condition. If you take any serotinergic medication like SSRIs (Lexapro, Prozac, etc.), MAOIs, or TCAs, make sure you understand the risk and know the symptoms of seratonin syndrome when taking any supplement with L-Theanine.
A lot of people taking SSRI's have trouble waking in the morning and would benefit immensely from this product, so I hope Zest Labs releases a secondary version without L-Theanine so we can feel safe and comfortable taking it every day. At the moment I am only taking one pill (40mg caffeine, 40 mg L-Theanine) out of caution, but I wish I could take a full 80mg caffeine.

“Waking up after 7 hours like clockwork”
From Day 1, Zest has consistently worked in 7 hours for me. I'm still figuring out the timing and if I want to be a morning exerciser before getting ready for work, but I'm waking up less groggy and more able to plan and make decisions. I used to wake up well before I needed to be up in order to have multiple alarms and a slow morning to let the coffee hit. Taking Zest is already a big improvement for a night owl with an early morning job. My only issue is sometimes I want more than 7 hours of sleep, but it will wake me up after 7 hours. So it's hard to take daily, though I know that is how it works best. I'm going to try to take it at 10PM even on weekends to wake up at 5AM and hope those habits become regular during the workweek. I've been waking up a few minutes before my alarm every day, so it's not a surprise.

“Got me off provigil”
so I have idiopathic hypersomnia, and it has been getting increasingly worse in the last year. I was taking Provigil 200 mg twice a day and I was still having issues staying awake. Unfortunately, the Provigil put me in afib so taking more wasn’t really an option. My provider found this for me, and I started taking it in place of the provigil. It was a rough transition at first because I was also on propranolol. But after about a week, it helped me tremendously. Now I take two of these at night and I actually feel awake enough to drive to work. It’s safer because I don’t go into AFib anymore.

Great for Mornings, Even Better for Travel
I’ve been using Zest Wake Up Pills for a while now, and the best way I can describe them is that they make it feel like I’ve already had a cup of coffee before I even leave bed. I’m not suddenly bouncing off the walls, just awake, alert, and much less tempted to hit snooze five more times.
They’ve also been a lifesaver for travel. I go to India fairly often, and jet lag on those trips can be rough, but these have helped tremendously with getting onto a new schedule and feeling functional a lot faster. Anything that helps you remember what day it is after a long-haul flight is doing something right.
One practical note: timing and what you’ve eaten does seem to matter a bit. I’ve noticed they tend to dissolve faster when I’ve eaten junk or a heavier meal, and a bit more slowly when I take them on a lighter stomach, so it’s worth paying attention to what works best for you.
Overall, they’ve become a regular part of my routine both at home and on the road. Simple, effective, and they make mornings feel a little less like a battle. Thank you for making this product!

Best in class ADHD/Travel/Time Management Tool for Execs.
Curious what the regulatory hurdles are for getting something like this made as a new ADHD medication delivery mechanism. I rely on this heavily to wake up enough to take and get my Adderall into my bloodstream in order to function (attorney working in risk management at a major financial institution). This is almost as important as Adderall to my morning stack. Try it; play around with timing; it is an incredibly useful tool in your toolkit. Jason is one of my current favorite people for making this, and I've never even spoken with him.

Waking Up Clear-Headed While Traveling Was a Game-Changer
I used Take Zest during a month-long trip across Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Seoul, and it genuinely made a big difference. The idea of taking caffeine before bed sounded a little strange at first, but it worked exactly as described.
Each night, I’d take a capsule right before going to sleep, and by the time I woke up, I felt clear-headed, alert, and ready to go. I didn’t have to rely on coffee or energy drinks first thing in the morning, which made a huge difference when I had early flights or full days of walking around in the heat.
What I appreciated most was how smooth and steady the energy felt. There was no jitteriness, no crash, and it didn’t mess with my sleep. It gave me the clarity and focus I needed, whether I was navigating crowded city streets or getting some work done on the go.
Now that I’m back home, I still use it. On nights when I know I have a packed day ahead, I take one before bed and wake up feeling noticeably more refreshed and ready to get started. It’s become a regular part of my routine, both for travel and daily life.

From Night Owl to Early Riser
Zest is a game changer — I’m not a morning person by nature, but introducing Zest to my nightly routine helped fix that. So grateful that I don’t have to struggle to make it to my morning Pilates classes on time anymore! I’ve also used Zest to help overcome jet lag which has been super helpful when traveling. Can’t recommend this enough!

Overall, the product works...
Overall, the product works as advertised and has been helpful when needing to wake up refreshed or adjusting to a new time zone. I have experienced some fluctuation in the release timing (even when not having eaten several hours before sleeping), anywhere from 7-9 hours. So wouldn't advise for very precise wake up hours, but overall helpful!
